Summer is one of the busiest seasons for weddings. There are long days, beautiful weather, and plenty of reasons to celebrate. But once the flowers have been tossed, the photos have been taken, and the last guests have headed home, what do couples actually remember most about their wedding day?

Lately, we’ve been reminded of the answer by some incredibly kind words from couples who celebrated at Devotions Wedding Chapel this summer.

They remember how they felt.

One of our June couples shared that throughout the planning process, we made them feel “so comfortable,” from meeting in person to talk through the details of their ceremony to choosing from different script options and readings. Flexibility was especially important to them, and being able to personalize their ceremony helped make the experience feel like their own.

They remember the little things that made their ceremony meaningful.

For another couple, that included incorporating a “Tie the Knot” handfasting ritual into their ceremony. They told us they received countless compliments on how personal and beautiful the ceremony was, saying it was “everything we had hoped for and more.”

Those details matter. A wedding ceremony doesn’t have to follow a particular formula. It can include the words, traditions and touches that feel meaningful to the two people standing at the altar.

They remember when someone made the complicated parts feel easy.

Wedding days have a lot of moving pieces. Rehearsals, schedules, music, ceremony details, getting everyone where they need to be; it can be a lot to coordinate.

One July bride described their experience as seamless, calling us “helpful, communicative, accommodating” and saying we went “completely above and beyond” to make their day special.

Another bride specifically mentioned how our experience and guidance helped them feel more confident throughout the planning process. From meetings leading up to the wedding to a smooth, organized rehearsal, they said we helped make the process “quick and stress-free.”

And sometimes, couples remember the place itself.

Devotions Wedding Chapel is more than a backdrop for a ceremony. It’s a place with character and details that become part of the day.

One couple called the chapel “absolutely breathtaking” and said they loved it from the moment they walked through the door. They appreciated having separate spaces for the bridal and groom’s parties to get ready, a downstairs space for a rehearsal, cocktail hour or reception, and even the opportunity to take all of their wedding photos right at the chapel.

And then there’s that church bell.

As one couple described it, pulling the big rope to ring the bell as they exited was “just magical.”

Another couple told us they received so many compliments from their guests about the chapel and said it made for incredible photos. They rented the venue for the entire day, loving the use of both suites to help everything run smoothly from beginning to end.

Perhaps the most meaningful thing couples remember, though, is how their wedding day made them feel.

They remember being surrounded by the people they love. They remember hearing words that felt personal to them. They remember the moments that didn’t go exactly according to a checklist, but somehow became the moments they wouldn’t want to change.

And they remember the people who helped make it all happen.

As one recent groom put it, “If we could give Devotions Wedding Chapel more than five stars, we absolutely would.”

A beautiful season to say “I do”

Summer may be one of the busiest and most popular times of year for weddings, but there is something special about choosing a different season.

Fall brings its own warmth, color and cozy atmosphere. Winter can create an intimate, romantic setting all its own. And sometimes, choosing a less traditional wedding season simply gives you the opportunity to create a celebration that feels a little more personal.

We still have select availability for several 2026 fall and 2026–27 winter wedding dates at Devotions Wedding Chapel near Green Bay, Fox Cities, and Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

If you’re considering a wedding later this year or into winter, we’d love to welcome you for a tour and let you see what makes Devotions such a memorable place to begin your next chapter.
